I developed a standardized LCA reporting and analysis tool for Silkeborg Municipality, enabling consistent documentation, presentation, and comparison of environmental performance across projects.

The tool was accompanied by a set of methodological guidelines defining how life cycle assessment should be applied at different project stages and scales. This ensured alignment between consultants and internal stakeholders and strengthened the municipality’s ability to use LCA as a decision-support tool rather than solely a compliance exercise.

A standardized regulatory baseline, aligned with Danish requirements, was established to allow comparison across cases and over time. This created a structured framework for benchmarking and long-term performance tracking.

The project concluded with a workshop on circularity and material reuse from a consequential LCA perspective. Here, I presented how markets differentiate between virgin and reused materials, and how these dynamics influence environmental impacts over time.

I developed a comprehensive greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting framework for an airport, covering existing buildings and infrastructure.

This included the creation of new typology-specific datasets to ensure accurate representation of the airport’s asset portfolio, covering more than 5.000.000 square meters. I then modelled projected emissions over a 25-year development horizon, evaluating multiple construction and operational scenarios.

Through a series of workshops with technical and operational staff, I integrated their expertise with quantified GHG impacts. This approach enabled scenario-based discussions grounded in measurable consequences, strengthening the organization’s understanding of how material choices and long-term planning decisions influence their overall emissions profile.

I developed Ekolab’s climate risk screening and assessment tool, ensuring compliance with the EU Taxonomy framework.

The tool enables early-stage screening as well as dynamic updates throughout the lifecycle of a construction project. It is applicable to both new developments and existing buildings.

The framework assesses physical climate risks including heatwaves, cold spells, extreme precipitation, flooding, and flash floods. It operates at municipal resolution, incorporating local conditions and adaptation measures to ensure context-specific analysis.

By integrating climate risk assessment into early project decision-making, the tool strengthens resilience considerations within sustainable construction practice.

I contributed to the development of Silkeborg Municipality’s cross-organizational sustainability strategy.

Together, we created a structured “map and compass” framework outlining viable sustainability pathways and defining both baseline performance and future ambitions. The strategy applies across departments and scales, from operational decisions such as food services to large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

The framework clarifies current performance levels, establishes long-term targets, and identifies knowledge gaps requiring further development. By defining a common direction and baseline, the strategy supports coordinated action while allowing flexibility across project types.

LY100 represents the first temporary residential project to undergo Danish DGNB certification.
In this project, I contributed to shaping the interpretation and application of certification criteria relevant to temporary buildings, with a particular focus on life cycle assessment.

A unique aspect of the project was the modelling of environmental impacts associated with relocating the building under different scenarios. This required analysis of new material flows, transport impacts, and dynamic system boundaries over the building’s life cycle. The work provided valuable insight into the environmental implications of modular and relocatable construction systems.

I have conducted multiple resource mapping studies for buildings scheduled for demolition or transformation.

These assessments identify reusable and recyclable materials, quantify their environmental value, and evaluate the potential to redirect materials from waste streams into continued use. Findings are compiled into structured resource catalogs, including estimated climate savings calculated from a consequential perspective.

When working with existing buildings, particular attention is given to contamination and hazardous substances, as these factors significantly influence reuse potential and material quality. By integrating environmental modelling with practical constraints, resource mapping becomes a strategic tool for circular construction.
